Holiday Spotlight on Kitchen Goods by Ultimate Designs, Featuring Designer Kitchenware at 451 Main Street #3
We're pleased to include Kitchen Goods by Ultimate Designs in our Holiday Spotlight Series.
We're spotlighting many of the unique businesses that make up Downtown Placerville so that you can learn of the opportunities you have to shop locally and support local businesses, their families, and ultimately our community.
We connected with Jenny Levitsky to learn more about Kitchen Goods by Ultimate Designs at 451 Main Street #3.
How would you describe your business to a friend?
Kitchen Goods is the retail aspect of my Kitchen design showroom.
We carry unique barware, cocktail mixers, wine glasses, a variety of wine barrel stave items like lazy susans, wine glass racks and pot racks, cookware, appetizer trays, and cheeseboards, and a variety of handmade stoneware dinnerware.
All or most of our products are either USA made or made in Europe, not China.
Why did you start your business?
I have been a designer for 20 years. I design restaurants, wineries, hospitality and residential kitchens and bathrooms, so this is just a new showroom for us.
By adding the retail kitchenware to my showroom, I hope to reach more people who love to cook and appreciate all things about kitchens, cooking, and entertaining.
What do you love most about it?
I love everything about kitchens which is why I have focused on kitchens & restaurants.
I love to cook and entertain so this new business model allows me to share this love with even more people.
What is something you wish people knew about your business?
I have found that some people come in to the store and they immediately think that I am just a design showroom.
I have all the retail items out on my shelves and counters, but I hope that people begin to understand that this can be a good place to shop for kitchen goods as well as my design services.
What is your most popular product or service?
Many people are wowed by my counter tops. They always ask about them because they are unique.
What is the biggest compliment your business has received?
People really love my showroom/store and how it looks. They say it has a really welcoming atmosphere and that I have managed to show lots of different styles in a small space.
Why did you choose to be on Main Street in Placerville?
I chose to be on Main St. because of adding the retail aspect of my business.
Downtown Placerville has such a unique charm and I knew that the exposure would be very good here.
Do you have any upcoming events or specials or new products/services people should know about?
I hope to start to do some events or classes in the near future.
I have thought about events like:
- How to make your own cocktail syrups or infusions
- How to cook with truffles
- Info on the many different types of salts & peppers
- And pretty much anything to do with cooking and entertaining
I've also thought about maybe doing some classes on “how to” start your kitchen design process. Please stay in touch for upcoming schedule of events.
Are you involved with any local non-profits or community groups you would like to give a shout out to?
I have continued to work with Habitat for Humanity to donate gently used kitchen cabinets and appliances when we are remodeling kitchens.
I look forward to finding more non-profits to get involved with as well.
