Holiday Spotlight on Home Inspirations, A Local Non-Profit With Unique Home Decor While Helping People In Difficult Situations at 416 Main Street
We're pleased to include Home Inspirations in our Holiday Spotlight Series.
We're spotlighting many of the unique businesses that make up Downtown Placerville so that you can learn of the opportunities you have to shop locally and support local businesses, their families, and ultimately our community.
We connected with Jenny Levitsky to learn more about Home Inspirations at 416 Main Street.
How would you describe your business to a friend?
We are a branch of a local non-profit (New Beginnings Gold Country) who helps men and women who are dealing with difficult life circumstances providing many services to them free of cost.
Why did you start your business? What do you love most about it?
We decided to create this new branch in order to be closer to those in our community.
We desire to create relationships that will be long lasting with other businesses, but also people in need. We decided to create a business where we can fix and paint old undesirable things and restore them.
We love getting to see things change before our very eyes. From ashes to beauty. The broken restored. Not only pertaining to furniture but the people we help as well!
We love the freedom to create such wonderful items!
What is something you wish people knew about your business?
We want people to know that we are much more than just a store. We are people who deeply care about our community and long for relationships.
What is a common question you get or what is your most popular product or service?
A common question is if we restore and re-purpose our furniture and what we use for decorating the pieces.
The answers...
We currently are supplied by the non-profit we support, and we fix the furniture, whether it needs gluing, wood putty, sanding, etc. Then we prime it, chalk paint it, and coat it.
For decor, we use transfers and stamps.
What is the biggest compliment your business has received?
The biggest compliment we have received was from our neighbors and fellow merchants here on main street who warmly welcomed us and wished us success.
Why did you choose to be on Main Street in Placerville?
We wanted to be in the heart of Placerville, where most locals and tourists seem to hangout.
Do you have any upcoming events or specials or new products/services people should know about?
We recently had the privilege to have our grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration.
Next, we are having a chamber mixer here at Home Inspirations at the beginning of 2019 and we are very excited.

Are you involved with any local non-profits or community groups you would like to give a shout out to?
We also would love to give a shout out to the Juvenile Service Council (J.S.C).
It gives us great satisfaction and joy to be a part of a great and purposeful local non-profit who does so much for the at-risk kids in our community.
We love all of the big-hearted people who belong to the group and volunteer the time to visit children in juvenile hall as well as give them support and encouragement when they are transitioned back into this wonderful community!!!
